HOW ACUPUNCTURE CAN HELP MALE INFERTILITY?

Our advanced acupuncture has been shown to increase sperm quality, quality, motility and also to reduce sperm DNA damage.

   Sperm DNA damage facts

  • For unexplained infertility, 80% is due to high sperm DNA abnomality.

  • Men with a DNA fragmentation level of greater than 30% are likely to have significantly reduced fertility potential, including a significant reduction in term pregnancies and a doubling of miscarriages.

  • Man can have high levels of sperm DNA fragmentation

  • despite a normal traditional semen analysis (motile, morphologically normal sperm).

  • The antioxidants for patients older than 40 years of age showed no improvement for sperm DNA.

  • Testicular spermatozoa have statistically significantly lower DNA damage compared with ejaculated spermatozoa in patients with unsuccessful oral antioxidant treatment.

Common causes of sperm and it's DNA damage:

  • Nutritional factors, eg. Low folate in seminal plasma

  • Drugs, chemotherapy & radiation therapy

  • Cigarette smoking & environmental toxins

  • Genital tract inflammation

  • Testicular hyperthermia (use of hot baths, saunas, laptop computers & prolonged periods of driving)

  • Varicoceles

  • Hormone factors

  • Infrequent ejaculation

  • Male’s age

How to exercise can increase testosterone naturally

Fast simple and easy exercises are the best. The doctor on the video below explains why.

The effects of Acupuncture on sperm

Acupuncture can improves sperm motility (Dieterle 2009), increases sperm count (Siterman 2009, Siterman 2001), improves sperm quality (Pei 2005; Gurfinkel 2003) and has a beneficial effect on psychogenic erectile dysfunction (Engelhardt 2003).

Acupuncture may help in the treatment of male infertility (Stener-Victorin 2010), by:

  • lowering scrotal temperature (Siterman 2009);

  • enhancing local microcirculation, by increasing the diameter and blood flow velocity of peripheral arterioles (Komori 2009);

  • reducing inflammation, by promoting release of vascular and immunomodulatory factors  (Zijlstra 2003)

  • by improving sperm maturation in the epididymis, increasing testosterone levels, and reducing liquid peroxidation of sperm  (Crimmel 2001)

Effect of mobile telephones on sperm quality

- a systematic review and meta-analysis

Research concludes that exposure to mobile phones was associated with 8% reduced sperm motility and 9% reduced viability.

World Health Organization reference values for human semen characteristics

(4500 men in 14 countries):

  • semen volume, 1.5 ml (1.4-1.7)

  • total sperm number, 39 million per ejaculate (33-46)

  • sperm concentration, 15 million per ml (12-16)

  • vitality, 58% live (55-63)

  • progressive motility, 32% (31-34)

  • total (progressive + non-progressive) motility, 40% (38-42)

  • morphologically normal forms, 4.0% (3.0-4.0).

What are the causes of Semen Analysis abnomality?

  • Semen volume and pH level are an index of seminal vesicle and prostate function.

  • Sperm concentration, motility and morphology are largely determined by testicular function and, to a lesser extent, by post-testicular (eg, pididymal) genital tract function.
